Joel Cronan

General Manager Operations

With his family having heritage owning and running hotels, Joel Cronan grew up in several pubs stretching from New South Wales across to Western Australia. He began his hospitality career from the age of 18, studying for his Advanced Diploma at the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. After graduating, he completed a Cadetship with Rydges Hotels. It wasn’t long before he returned to pubs though and, at the age of 25, became Licensee at a venue in Sydney’s CBD.

After several years as Licensee of a number of high compliance and high volume hotels across Sydney, Joel joined National Leisure and Gaming in 2008. Commencing with NLG in a regional New South Wales venue, Joel soon returned to Sydney as the Area Manager of a large portfolio of hotels including El Cortez Hotel, Eastwood Hotel and Keighery Hotel. Over the ensuing years, Joel developed a thorough understanding of the business and moved from NSW Operations Manager and eventually to General Manager Operations where he leads a team of over 600 employees.

With over 20 years’ experience in the industry, Joel has worked and managed a broad diverse range of hotels from suburban pubs, F&B hotels and large entertainment venues.

Joel has an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management and recently completed the Company Directors Course with the Australian Institute for Company Directors.
